There will be prizes presented in the divisions listed in the prize list.  Competitors must show in three of the four shows to qualify for points. Division points will be awarded to the rider in the  Equitation/Horsemanship divisions and to the horse/rider combination in all other divisions. In the Hunter Division, points will be awarded to a horse/rider combination in one Division only. The decision on which Division the rider wants to be pointed in must be made at the first show attended.

HUNTER CLASSES will be judged on performance, manners, way of going and hunting soundness. They will be required to jump a course of not more than ten fences. An order of go will be posted. Rounds of three will be back to back. Maximum height for Division #1 will be 2'. Maximum height for Division #2 will be 2'6".
There is no cross entering with the same horse/rider combination, between cross rail hunter and regular hunter o/f classes. The exception is the Hunter Under Saddle class.

All ENGLISH PLEASURE CLASSES will be judged at a walk, trot and easy canter. May be requested to back.  To be judged on performance, manners and way of going.

NOVICE CLASSES are for Novice riders who are not showing in regular classes at Central Nova Horse and Pony Association or other shows.  They are open to English and Western riders in Pleasure to be shown at the walk, trot/jog and canter/lope. Novice riders are not eligible to ride in other classes with the exception of the Pairs class and Novice Gymkhana.  Those showing in the Lead Line Class can enter the Novice Gymkhana events only. No riding hors concours in the novice flat classes, for safety reasons.

The PAIRS CLASS will be judged at a walk, trot/jog both ways of the ring on uniformity of gait and way of going.  Open to horse/pony, English/Western, regular/novice riders.

The GREEN PLEASURE CLASS is open to green horses or ponies, English or Western. Green means a horse/pony in it’s first year of showing. This class will be judged at a walk, trot/jog and canter/lope, on performance, manners and way of going.

All WESTERN PLEASURE classes will be judged at a walk, jog and lope. May be requested to back. To be judged on performance, manners and way of going.  One or two hands may be used on any aged horse.

WORKING COW HORSE PATTERN is a class where the horse is judged on quality of gaits, response to the rider, manners and disposition. Series/Show Rules

HORSE  SHOW  RULES

NEW FOR 2011 - the show ring at CNHP will no longer be available for schooling purposes in advance of the Series Shows and Hunter Shows.  To clarify, the ring will be closed in the evening when the jump course is being set and will remain closed until the start of the show. All riders wanting to school on the Grounds the morning of any show will have to use the designated warm-up ring. This is due to safety concerns and liability issues for the volunteers working at the show. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

CNHP is changing the requirements for liability insurance for 2012. As well as accepting NSEF memberships, the club will now accept personal policies, such as HEP. However, we will require a copy of the policy and a letter from your insurer stating that you are covered for one million in liability insurance for this type of activity. This letter will be kept on file for the year. If the policy is renewed during the CNHP membership year (Jan-Dec), the club will require and updated letter.
